Import Regulations
EU Import Regulations
Ginger and turmeric imported into the EU must comply with Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on pesticide residues. Maximum residue levels are strictly enforced. Products must meet food safety standards under Regulation (EC) No 852/2004.
Quality Standards
EU quality standards for ginger specify moisture content (max 12%), ash content (max 7%), and absence of mold. For turmeric, curcumin content (min 3-5%) and color value are important quality parameters. Products are graded by size, appearance, and purity.
US FDA Requirements
Ginger and turmeric imported into the US must comply with FDA food safety regulations. Products must be free from filth, adulteration, and properly labeled. FDA enforces standards for pesticide residues and food additives.
