Our comprehensive QA program ensures that every shipment meets international standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. We maintain full traceability from farm to container, allowing us to identify and address any quality issues quickly and effectively.

Farm-Level Quality Control

Quality assurance starts with our farmer partners:

• Pre-harvest inspections to determine optimal picking time for maximum flavor and oil content
• Farmer training programs on proper harvesting techniques and post-harvest handling
• Initial quality sorting at the farm level to remove defective materials
• Proper drying protocols using solar dryers, drying racks, or mechanical dryers to prevent mold and ensure consistent moisture content
• Storage in clean, dry conditions to prevent contamination and moisture absorption

Processing Facility Standards

Our processing facilities implement strict quality control measures:

• HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) food safety management systems
• GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) for hygiene and sanitation
• Metal detection and foreign matter removal through sieving, aspiration, and optical sorting
• Moisture content testing to ensure products meet specifications and prevent mold growth
• Microbiological testing for pathogens including Salmonella, E. coli, and other contaminants
• Pesticide residue testing to verify compliance with EU Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs)

Product-Specific Quality Parameters

Each spice product has specific quality parameters we monitor:

• Nutmeg - Size grading (ABC 20mm+), moisture content <12%, no insect damage, specific gravity tests
• Cloves - Whole bud integrity, moisture 10-12%, oil content 15-20%, no stem contamination (unless specified)
• Pepper - Density grading (500-550g/L), moisture <13%, no mold or insect damage, berries per gram counts
• Cinnamon - Quill thickness and length, color consistency, oil content analysis, absence of foreign matter
• Vanilla - Moisture 20-25%, vanillin content analysis, visual appearance, length and quality grading
• Ginger/Turmeric - Moisture content, fiber content, curcumin levels (turmeric), essential oil analysis, absence of mold

Laboratory Testing and Certification

We maintain relationships with accredited laboratories for comprehensive testing:

• Microbiological analysis - Total plate count, yeast/mold, coliforms, pathogens
• Chemical analysis - Moisture, ash content, essential oil composition, specific marker compounds
• Contaminant screening - Aflatoxins, pesticide residues, heavy metals, mycotoxins
• Physical testing - Density, granulometry, foreign matter, extraneous matter
